Serpentines are bikers’ dear friends and shots of fast journeys through serpentines are dear friends of film composers. So in director Marc Hartmanns Specspot „The road to hell“ it’s gratifying to have the motorcyclist’s point-of-view, when he drives through plenty of serpentines.

By viewing the spot it arises to step also on the gas concerning composing music and sound design. So the music develops from the both heartbeats of man and machine, making the inner live of the motorcyclist audible: the driver’s heartbeat at the commercials beginning forms the basic rhythm throughout the complete spot and the initial audible engine noise had to undergo several extreme processes relating rhythm and sound to become a repetitive lead-synth, modulating its timbre all along and creating a high energy. A tight bass and rocking drums make sure, that the music gathers a lot of speed.
