Dolby Atmos & Immersive Audio
Composition and Sound Design in Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos has become an essential part of modern film sound. It places the audience in a near-natural listening environment, where music and sound can be perceived from every direction — including from above. This adds an extra layer of intimacy, depth, and atmosphere. Used thoughtfully, Dolby Atmos becomes a storytelling tool — not just a format.
Treating this three-dimensional space as part of the concept from the very beginning — already in film scoring and sound design — is the best foundation for truly convincing immersive audio productions. Musical and acoustic elements can be placed intentionally in the 3D field right from the writing stage, enhanced with immersive reverbs and effects, and orchestrated specifically for spatial perception. This opens up creative possibilities that are fundamentally different from trying to create an immersive mix later in the final dub from a score that was produced purely in stereo.
Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 Music Studio
To ensure reliable translation across cinema, TV, and streaming playback systems, the studio is equipped with monitoring calibrated to Dolby specifications — making it an official Dolby Atmos Music Studio. Precisely aligned to an acoustically optimized control room, the setup features seven speakers on the horizontal plane, a subwoofer, and four overhead speakers, providing the required 7.1.4 layout at a professional level. This makes it possible to produce, evaluate, and deliver immersive mixes with confidence and consistency.
A calibrated 7.1.4 reference environment also helps avoid the translation issues that can occur in purely headphone-based immersive productions—where individual anatomy can affect perceived imaging, localization, and spaciousness. In short: what you approve in the studio is what translates in the real world.
Details about the studio upgrade can be found here.
Immersive Music Mixes, TV Film Mixes, and Pre-Mixes
For film and series productions, complete Dolby Atmos mixes are possible — including preparation and delivery for broadcasters and streaming platforms. In addition, premixes and stems can be supplied for cinema productions, keeping the final mix process efficient, transparent, and flexible.
Pure music mixing is also available: existing music that currently exists as a stereo mix and is intended for an immersive release on platforms such as Apple Music or TIDAL can be mixed to the respective specifications in Dolby Atmos and delivered as a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos Music Mix.
Transfers can be handled, among other workflows, via Logic Pro or Pro Tools. In addition to the Atmos master, common deliverables such as downmixes / fold-downs (e.g., 5.1, stereo, etc.) can be provided on request.
