To see the world through the eyes of a child is for an adult sometimes hard to do. While terms like playing, romping or tinkering are not that important in the adulthood, they are absolutely essential for children. Coupled with fantasy in great quantities – which regarding to children actually is always overabundant – an adventure might enfold, like little Lisa experiences in the 3D animation movie “Pebblestone”.

At play in the courtyard she’s building a new toy out of several findings. As her mum calls her for lunch, she certainly has to realize, that it’s not that easy to appear together with her new toy.

The look of Ellen Hoffman’s children’s film is similar to an animated aquarelle-painting. The inner courtyard, in which the whole story takes place, has Mediterranean flair and sets the mood for the music. Most of the time the film score consists of two acoustic guitars, which illustrate and comment the plot in a flamenco-like style. Only in the middle part of the movie, when the story more and more becomes an adventure, powerful and impelling percussions are joining.
