During the coronavirus pandemic, the world watched in awe as a previously unknown biotech company suddenly became the beacon of hope for the world's first coronavirus vaccine: CureVac from Tübingen.

The documentary film "Heilung" (WT) by Marcus Richardt and Lillian Rosa shows the turbulent and fascinating journey of its protagonist Ingmar Hoerr, pioneer of mRNA technology and founder of CureVac.

Film music between electronics and string quartet

In terms of style, the film music is generally in the field of Minimal Music and is largely repetitive in character. The sound of the music is mostly edgy, often with a pronounced noise design. Depending on the subject matter of the respective film scene or film music, either analogue and digital synths or classical instruments such as piano or strings are used, which are alienated, prepared or played in a special way to create the desired sound.

Parts of the film music were written and recorded for string quartet. These were recorded by the Leipzig-based mondëna quartet, a string quartet consisting of four female artists who move confidently between classical and modern genres.

The nationwide cinema release for "Heilung" (AT) is scheduled for the first half of 2025.
