Shortly after his speech, Green Party politician Benedikt Groppler is kidnapped in the middle of an election campaign and in broad daylight. As a former activist and current top candidate for the Berlin Senate, Groppler has potential enemies on several sides of the political spectrum. Suddenly, video clips of the kidnapping appear on Instagram and an intensive investigation begins, with time running out.

Dark, Driving Radio Play Music

Director Wolfgang Seesko has created a dense and fast-paced production of the crime radio play "Menschen fallen" by Lars Werner for Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Fittingly, the main musical theme is urgent, ominous and intense. Overall, the music of the radio play is quite gloomy, often harsh and consists mainly of synthetic, but at the same time organic sounds.

The time-critical component of the radio play is reflected in the music, with rhythmic elements such as percussion or pulsating synthesiser sequences emphasising the urgency and tension of the plot. A counterpoint to this are the calmer, ambivalent pads, which in the corresponding scenes of the radio play as dark, subliminal-agressive surfaces, thematise the constant danger and create uneasy, dream-like moods and inner projections.

The first broadcast of the radio play "Menschen fallen" will be aired by Deutschlandfunk Kultur on 24 June at 22:03 and will be available online afterwards.
